The annual renaissance fair is back!
New to Crownsville? New to Maryland? Born and raised here? Ultimately, it doesn’t matter! You and your family should check out the annual renaissance fair at the Anne Arundel County Fair grounds.
How long does it run for?
The event consists of 9 weekends of local fun! They go all out with local food & drinks, costumes rentals, dancing, blacksmiths, etc. It is literally a time machine back to the 14th century. Bill & Ted would have a most excellent adventure here. The Renaissance fair has been going strong for 46 seasons in a row and refused to stop. The festival runs from August 27th through October 23rd. You can find more info and purchase your tickets at www.RennFest.com (ticket sales are online only). This event is a great opportunity for the whole family.
Eat and Drink?
If you’re a foodie this part is for you. You’ll find the following at this years festival: Hot Apple Dumplings, Berry Muffins, Croissant Sundaes, Funnel Fries, Fresh Coffee/Cinnamon Rolls, Chicken or Shrimp Dippers, Crab Cake Sandwiches, Homemade Crab Dip, Crab Rangoon, Carrot Cake, Chicken, Pork, Shrimp, Vegan Rice Bowls, Fish ‘n’ Chips ,Canterbury Pork Pockets, Knave Sandwich / Steak on a Stake, Bagels with Cream Cheese. Fresh Seafood (Oysters, Shrimp, Mussels), Spring & Egg Roll, Chocolate Cake, and finally Roasted Almonds. Incase you are wondering, they do serve alcohol at the event as well!
Things to do at the Festival:
If you don’t have a costume no problem, you can rent one. Above all, while the Wild West of the United States going to rodeos, Marylander’s on the East Coast are going to the jousting competition. As you can see, there is a ton to do and eat at the Renn Fest.
